Fields: Qualifiers

Qualifiers lets you manage the qualifiers in a specific Z39.50 set. You can add new qualifiers, or edit or delete existing qualifiers. You can create qualifiers for subject, series, uniform title, ISSN, title, ISBN, author, notes, keyword, and LCCN data. For each qualifier, you can define the values for these attributes from the Bib-1 attribute standard: completeness, position, relation, structure, truncation, and use.

You can sort the Qualifier List by clicking the column heading of the information by which you want to sort. (For example, click the “Code” column to sort the list by code.) When you click the column heading the first time, the software sorts the information in the list in ascending order by the column heading. If you click the column heading a second time, the software sorts information in the list in descending order by the column heading. When you click a column heading, the software displays a sort arrow to the right of the column name that indicates whether the data is being sorted in ascending ( ) or descending ( ) order.

Qualifier List

Displays a list of all the existing qualifiers on the system by code.

Management options

Lets you manage Z39.50 sets by adding, editing, or deleting qualifiers.

You can choose these options:

Option	Description
Add Qualifier	Lets you add a new qualifier to the Z39.50 set. (For more information, see Adding or editing a qualifier .)
Edit	Lets you edit the settings for an existing qualifier within the Z39.50 set. (For more information, see Adding or editing a qualifier .)
Delete	Lets you delete an existing qualifier from the Z39.50 set. (For more information, see Deleting a qualifier .)
